Porsche’s “Unseen” series is inspired by the development center’s secret archives. These inspirations have manifested themselves into spin-offs including Porsche Boxster Bergspyder (2014), Porsche 911 Vision Safari (2012), Porsche Le Mans Living Legend (2016), and Porsche Macan Vision Safari (2013).

With a current status of being a mobile prototype, the 2014 Porsche 909 Boxter Bergsypder was the lightest racing car ever used by Porsche in motorsport, weighing in at only 384 kilograms. Michael Maur along with his design team carefully balanced the vehicle to both leverage its low weight and powerful mid-engine, but also effortlessly conquer any and all twists and turns of the alps.

Next is the 2012 Porsche 911 Vision Safari, a mobile prototype based on the 991 generation 911. With its reinforced wheel arches, massive bumpers, raised chassis, and motorsport-inspired cockpit, Maur confidently believes that “no other car brand can combine the themes of sports cars and off-road as credibly as Porsche.” The Porsche 911 Vision Safari is ultimately a reminiscence of the memorable 911 Safari, used in the East African Safari Rally around the 1970s.

Inspired by the Porsche Boxter, the Porsche Le Mans Living Legend of 2016 encompasses the definition of an extreme road sports car. The powerhouse is reminiscent of the historical Porsche 550 racing coupe at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1952. With its status being a hard model in scale 1:1, the Porsche Le Mans’ rear includes an eight-cylinder engine with excessive sound development, while both the front and rear bonnet open in opposite directions, with the fuel being efficiently supplied through a central nozzle located at the front.

Finally is 2013’s Porsche Macan Vision Safari, a hard model in scale 1:1 that encompasses a real off-road wonder while being virtually predestined to prove its effortless versatility from rally tracks to gravel roads. As a result, the design team in Weissach has strategically labeled the Porsche Macan Vision Safari as an off-road-suitable three-door model on coats-grained wheels.
