As one of the premier luxury automakers, Porsche has a well-deserved reputation for crafting sports cars with premium features, impressive powertrains, and beautiful designs. With the world going green, Porsche’s latest ambition is to bring this world-class auto knowledge into the electric vehicle market.

Looking into the future, Porsche’s top executives have unveiled a new goal: 80 percent all-electric new vehicles. It is certainly a challenge to transition so dramatically to a new lineup, but Porsche has some of the world’s best engineers and designers to make this happen. Their foray into this market has already been a huge success; the stunning all-electric Taycan embodies Porsche performance while also being a viable competitor to more established and older electric luxury car models. Additionally, their hybrid models are gaining market share as well. In the Europe market, for last year, 40% of all vehicles sold were at least partially electric (this designation included plug-in hybrids as well as fully electric cars). By 2025, half of all new Porsche sales are expected to come from fully electric vehicles. Given their track record and progress, both this and the 2030 goal seem quite attainable.

Porsche not only has the vision to build a premiere all-electric lineup, but also the financial capabilities. With net cash flow increasing by billions of Euros annually (thanks to their 2025 profitability program), the German automaker has the necessary capital to invest in new infrastructure, people, and research to make electric vehicles worthy of the Porsche name.

Apart from simply building and selling electric cars, Porsche is also investing in transportation electrification as a concept. The brand is pouring capital into charging infrastructure so that owners can have the peace of mind of taking their cars far and wide. Additionally, Porsche is heavily researching and developing batteries to maximize the performance and longevity of their new cars.

All of this innovation reflects an important trend in the market. Electrification is coming fast, and is on the forefront of most automakers’ minds. Porsche is admirably ahead of the curve and seeking to become a leader in this space.
