A new showstopper will steal the hearts of heritage collectors. Meet the latest Porsche 911 Sport Classic, an ultimate must-have.
This is the second of four installments of Porsche’s Heritage Design Strategy that “represent the most emotionally driven concepts of the Porsche product strategy.” The first one is the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition which was presented in 2020.
Inspired by the 911 design of the 1960s and 1970s, history and heritage is embodied in every curve of this stunning work of art. There will only be a limited run of 1,250 units.
Iconic
From a wider body that makes it look more menacing, a rear spoiler carrying the style of the legendary “ducktail” Carrera RS 2.7, and the double-bubble roof, the 911 Sport Classic is truly a unique showstopper. It comes with racing stripes on the front trunk lid, roof and rear spoiler, round number decals on the sides, and exclusive badging to remind owners of how rare the Sport Classic is.
Its Sport Grey Metallic paintwork is inspired by the early Porsche 356, the first model to be painted in Fashion Grey. If you want more colorful choices, don’t fret! The Sport Classic is available in Solid Black, Gentian Blue Metallic, and Agate Grey Metallic, as well. If you desire another color, Paint to Sample will be available from October 2022 to allow customers to paint their car in any color they want.
The interior makes a grand statement with the iconic Pepita pattern on the seat centers, and door panels. A two-tone semi-aniline leather upholstery in either black or classic cognac gives off a sophisticated contrast with the exterior’s color.
Specially crafted by the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, the new 911 is a modern rendition on an institutional classic, nonetheless, a distinct icon that will make one stand out. Owners will also be getting an exclusive, high-quality chronograph that shares design inspiration with the vehicle!
Futuristic
Make no mistake, although the modern 911 is a revival of previous designs, the German automobile manufacturer infused the latest driver technology, infotainment, and assistance features. Without a doubt, it is a car worthy to be showcased both on the road, and the museum.
Powerful
More than a striking sight, the new 911 is the most powerful manual 911 available today. Its powertrain concept is astounding, boasting of a 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that can transmit an impressive 405 kW output. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed manual gearbox with automatic rev.
To help keep shifts smooth and clear, dynamic drive modes are also incorporated.
Matching the power is an emotive sound experience, delivered by the standard sports exhaust system which has been tailored to the model. Not to mention, the suspension which is based on that of the 911 GTS models and 911 Turbo, meets high performance requirements, as well. The standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and the vehicle’s shock absorbers can excellently respond to dynamic changes at lightning speed.
The new 911 Sport Classic is a total package, showcasing impeccable design, technology, and plenty of history in it. This incredibly promising vehicle is set to be released in September 2022.
