When you love something, it naturally shines through. This has certainly been true for Bill Scholar, a Washington, D.C. commercial artist. While driving his 1953 Porsche 356 Coupe back in the 1950s, he would flash his headlights as a greeting to fellow Porsche owners. This simple act led to a greater desire to connect with Porsche enthusiasts—eventually paving the way for the very first meeting of the Porsche Club of America on September 13, 1955.

After just one year, the Porsche Parade, the Club’s first national gathering, happened in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Sixty-four members joined this foundational event, which later became a valued annual tradition.

Today, the PCA has become the largest club for Porsche owners in the world, and it remains steadfast to its founding spirit that is deeply rooted in passion, friendship, and shared experience. This year, the 69th Porsche Parade celebration was held from July 6 to 12 in Oklahoma. It was a highlight to remember, but just one piece of a much larger celebration featuring regional gatherings, exclusive events—and the inauguration of a very significant limited-edition car. Presenting—the 911 Carrera T Club Coupe.

Marking PCA’s 70th anniversary milestone, the Club partnered with Style Porsche and Porsche Sonderwunsch to manufacture this model that pays homage to Club founder Bill Scholar. It exudes timeless elegance in a “Scholar Blue” paint, a metallic reimagination of the Club Blau color, which was first presented in 2015. Porsche legend Grant Larson designed this iconic car that carries a visual and emotional tribute to Sholar. Exclusively for PCA members residing in the U.S. and Canada, only 70 units will be crafted.

However astonishing, the most moving moment during the Parade didn’t come from the cars, but the people.  Hans-Peter Porsche, son of Ferry Porsche, also graced the event with Daniell, his son, and Tamino, his grandson. Attending for the 33rd time, he continues to uphold the traditional participation of the Porsche family that was started by Ferry himself.

Moving to the future, towards its 8th decade, PCA strengthens its commitment to its guiding principles. As a dynamic hub for Porsche enthusiasts of all ages, the Club will host technical workshops and driving tours, spreading the love for Porsche and the community.
